Wheel-thrown, botanical ceramics handmade by Sara Bowen
I got you! I have a 4-cubic-foot electric kiln and rent space for mid-range firings (Cone 04 and Cone 6 only). Kiln rental is serious business though, so make sure you read all the details below.
Shelf: 8” wide x 15” long x 10” high
$10 per shelf
Whole Kiln: 4 cubic feet
$60 per firing
Cone 6 glaze firing OR cone 04 bisque firing only.
Pot walls must be no thicker than ½” to ensure full drying (moisture left in thick walls can make pots explode in the kiln—clay is so dramatic).
Glazed pieces must have bottoms free of glaze, and be cleaned off 1/4” from the bottom (glaze that touches the kiln shelf will glue your pot to my shelf—again with the dramatics).
Pots will be ready for pick up two weeks after drop off. If that schedule changes, I’ll let you know ASAP.
Payment due at pick up.
You must provide information in the form below about the clay and glazes used to ensure my kiln and your pots fire successfully.
$10 minimum fee
After drop off, please allow up to two weeks for your pots to be ready for pick-up.
Payment will be due at pick-up.
